Dynamic & Gap Metronome for iOS and Android
The metronome that speeds up with you.
Set a start tempo, a bar count and a step. Accel climbs to your target on its own, then brings you back down. Add a gap trainer that goes silent for whole bars, and you have a practice partner instead of a click.
On your phone
Three screens. No menus in the way.
-
The metronome
Tempo dial, beat ring, subdivisions and accents. Everything within a thumb.
-
Dynamic mode
Start, step, target. Watch the tempo climb bar by bar.
-
Gap trainer
Silent bars on the grid. The click comes back exactly on time.
Dynamic mode
Increase by 5 BPM every 4 bars.
That is the whole setup. Accel holds each tempo for the bars or minutes you choose, steps up on the bar line, and lands exactly on your target even when the maths does not divide evenly.
Turn on Ramp back down and it returns to the start tempo in the same steps, as one uninterrupted run. Leave the target off and it keeps climbing until you stop.

Gap trainer
Two bars on. Two bars off. Were you still on it?
The gap trainer silences whole bars while the clock keeps counting. Nothing sounds in a silent bar, and the click returns exactly on the grid, so the landing tells you the truth about your time.
Pick a fixed pattern, let chance decide, or run a ladder that grows the gap one bar at a time. Save your own presets next to the five built in.
- Fixed1–8 click · 1–8 silent
- Random10–80 % silence · cap on runs

Questions
Good to know
What is a dynamic metronome?
A metronome that changes tempo automatically while you play. In Accel you set a start tempo, how long to hold each step (in bars or minutes) and how much to add. The tempo rises on the bar line, stops at your target or keeps going, and can step back down the same way.
What does the gap trainer do?
It mutes whole bars while the beat keeps counting. When the click comes back you hear immediately whether you drifted. Choose a fixed pattern, a random one, or a ladder that lengthens the gaps over time.
Does Accel work with the screen off?
Yes. The click keeps running with the screen off or another app in front. On Android a lock-screen notification lets you pause and stop; on iOS it uses background audio.
Which platforms are supported?
iOS 15 and later, and Android 8 (API 26) and later. The app is free of accounts, ads and analytics.
